Time develops in each one of us a "retrospective" of something that ... has already occurred and has lagged behind, yet the reminiscence of this "past time" means remembering how it all began ....

And looking back, we saw a course that had been traveled, not the other, ... who settled into situations, who waited for the right moment and followed a path.
